googlefontdirectory-tools software package provides various tools for generating, analysing and manipulating font files, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install googlefontdirectory-tools
googlefontdirectory-tools is installed in your system.
Make ensure the googlefontdirectory-tools package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep googlefontdirectory-tools *
You will get with googlefontdirectory-tools package name, version, architecture and description in a table
